KAGAMI is a Cosmic Funk project from the Netherlands, founded by producer duo Lucas Sim and Rotem Gerad. Drawing from their backgrounds in jazz, disco, and electronic music, they create a sound influenced by French Touch and Japanese City Pop. Their compositions blend rich instrumentation with electronic production, featuring live basslines, synth-driven grooves, and smooth vocal melodies inspired by artists like Daft Punk and Tatsuro Yamashita. With a rotating lineup of musicians, KAGAMI brings their music to life on stage, offering a dynamic performance that combines classic and contemporary influences.

Their energetic live performances have turned heads at major events, including North Sea Jazz Festival, Metropolis Festival, and a sold-out show at Paradiso. Their debut EP, PHASE 1, gained national and international radio play, from NPO2 in the Netherlands to Japan’s J-WAVE, where Friends and Little Bit landed on DJ Taro's prestigious Spotify editorial playlist. Kainalu is a psychedelic funk recording project by independent multi-instrumentalist and producer Trent Prall. Drawing influence from modern psychedelia and classic motown artists he grew up listening to, Kainalu’s unique sound has gained international appeal. Kainalu’s core is rooted in Prall’s Japanese-Hawaiian heritage; the word roughly translating to ocean waves, but more personally the concept of the ocean rising and breaking down the islands through time and the impermanence of life. Kainalu explores this meaning through both its sound and visuals. Joined by a guitarist, Joe Waldbillig, bassist, Evan Nelson, drummers, Matthew Allen and Julian Russell and conguero, Aaron Gochberg, Prall creates a more jam-oriented live interpretation of his recorded music. Kainalu’s sophomore album, “Ginseng Hourglass,” is out November 4, 2022.

Liverpool based producer and synthwave artist, Lee Blanshard, aka Kalax, has a background as a vocalist and bass player in several metal/alternative bands, but since 2006, he’s produced electronic music inspired by his mother’s 80’s cassette and vinyl collection which he grew up listening to, and also by 80’s movies like The NeverEnding Story, The Flight Of The Navigator and Legend. Since his debut EP, Journey (2013), he has released two EP’s and three full-length albums and has performed a whole host of live shows. Several of his tracks will also be featured in the 2020 Documentary ROBODOC. A Robocop Documentary.

Born in North Jersey on October 27th, 1998, KALEB MITCHELL began his career by releasing two mixtapes and multiple singles for free online between 2015 & 2016. Kaleb quickly began gaining traction on platforms like SoundCloud and YouTube. He has independently accumulated over 30 million streams on Spotify, and more than 10 million streams through SoundCloud and Apple Music alone. Mitchell’s third mixtape and first commercial effort, So Help Me God, was independently released on June 9th, 2017 while he was still in high school. The project peaked at #7 on the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap charts, and came in at #82 overall.

In August of 2019, Kaleb inked a deal with Def Jam to re-release his fan favorite, "Get It". The track was picked up by the New York Jets as their season anthem, and was also remixed by NY rapper Casanova.

After a two year hiatus, on February 5th, 2021, So Help Me God II, was finally released. The album peaked at #7 on the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap charts, and also came with a short film entitled 'So Help Me God', written and directed by Mitchell himself. The album features the likes of John Givez, Xavier Omär, and more, and has been met with rave reviews from fans and critics alike. In terms of what the future holds, in an interview with Rolling Loud Radio, Mitchell promises, "there won't be any more hiatuses".

West Coast rapper Aminé and Haitian-Canadian producer Kaytranada join forces as Kaytraminé, making beach party-ready hip-hop with R&B and house influences. Setting hedonistic, braggadocious rhymes to summery grooves, the duo's self-titled debut arrived in 2023, sporting guest appearances from Pharrell Williams and Snoop Dogg.

Bubba, his second album, was released the following December with Pharrell, Kali Uchis, and Masego among the contributors—and has won the young producer 2 Grammys at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

Known for her powerful sultry voice yet dark prose, Keisha Plum's niche writing blends thought provoking imagery, iconic culture references and poetic intimacy like no one else in the game. Plum has proven her writing is incredibly unique, as she has garnered fans from all over the globe, solely off her featured appearances within a 13 year span. The level of art she has provided from composition to compostion proves that she is one of the most versatile poets within the hiphop landscape and beyond.

Honored by The National Endowment for the Arts as a 2010 Jazz Master, Kenny Barron has an unmatched ability to mesmerize audiences with his elegant playing, sensitive melodies and infectious rhythms. The Los Angeles Times named him “one of the top jazz pianists in the world” and Jazz Weekly calls him “The most lyrical piano player of our time.”
Philadelphia is the birthplace of many great musicians, including one of the undisputed masters of the jazz piano: Kenny Barron. Kenny was born in 1943 and while a teenager, started playing professionally with Mel Melvin’s orchestra. This local band also featured Barron’s brother Bill, the late tenor saxophonist.
While still in high school. Kenny worked with drummer Philly Joe Jones and at age 19, he moved to New York City and freelanced with Roy Haynes, Lee Morgan and James Moody, after the tenor saxophonist heard him play at the Five Spot. Upon Moody’s recommendation Dizzy Gillespie hired Barron in 1962 without even hearing him play a note. It was in Dizzy’s band where Kenny developed an appreciation for Latin and Caribbean rhythms. After five years with Dizzy, Barron played with Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Turrentine, Milt Jackson, and Buddy Rich. The early seventies found Kenny working with Yusef Lateef who Kenny credits as a key influence in his art for improvisation. Encouraged by Lateef, to pursue a college education, Barron balanced touring with studies and earned his B.A. in Music from Empire State College, By 1973, Kenny joined the faculty at Rutgers University as professor of music. He held this tenure until 2000, mentoring many of today’s young talents including David Sanchez, Terence Blanchard and Regina Bell. In 1974 Kenny recorded his first album as a leader for the Muse label, entitled “Sunset To Dawn.” This was to be the first in over 40 recordings (and still counting!) as a leader.
Following stints with Ron Carter in the late seventies Kenny formed a trio with Buster Williams and Ben Riley which also worked alongside of Eddie Lockjaw” Davis, Eddie Harris, Sonny Stitt and Harry “Sweets” Edison. Throughout the 80’s Barron collaborated with the great tenor saxophonist Stan Getz, touring with his quartet and recording several legendary albums including “Anniversary”, “Serenity” and the Grammy nominated “People Time” Also during the 80’s, he co-founded the quartet “Sphere,”
along with Buster Williams, Ben Riley and Charlie Rouse. This band focused on the music of Thelonious Monk and original compositions inspired by him. Sphere recorded several outstanding projects for the Polygram label, among them “Four For All” and “Bird Songs.” After the death of Charlie Rouse, the band took a 15-year hiatus and reunited, replacing Rouse with alto saxophonist Gary Bartz. This reunion made its debut recording for Verve Records in 1998.
Kenny Barron’s own recordings for Verve have earned him nine Grammy nominations beginning in 1992 with “People Time” an outstanding duet with Stan Getz followed by the Brazilian influenced “Sambao and most recently for “Freefall” in 2002. Other Grammy nominations went to “Spirit Song”, “Night and the City” (a duet recording with Charlie Haden) and “Wanton Spirit” a trio recording with Roy Haynes and Haden. It is important to note that these three recordings each received double-Grammy nominations (for album and solo performance.) His CD, “Canta Brasil” (Universal France) linked Barron with Trio de Paz in a fest of original Brazilian jazz, and was named Critics Choice Top Ten CDs of 2003 by JazzIz Magazine. His 2004 release, Images (Universal France) was inspired by a suite originally commissioned by The Wharton Center at Michigan State University and features multi-Grammy nominated vibraphonist Stefon Harris. The long awaited trio sequel featuring Ray Drummond and Ben Riley, The Perfect Set, Live At Bradley’s, Part Two (Universal France/Sunnyside) was released October 2005.
In Spring 2008 Mr. Barron released The Traveler (Universal France), an intoxicating mix of favorite Barron tunes set to lyrics and newly penned compositions. For his first vocal based recording, Barron invited Grady Tate (who sheds his drumsticks for this special appearance), Tony award winner Ann Hampton Calloway and the young phenom Gretchen Parlato, winner of the Thelonious Monk International Competition for Jazz. On “Um Beijo”, Mr. Tate’s warm, leathery voice balanced by Mr. Barron’s poignant touch make for a beautifully textured conversation, underscoring their longtime on stage collaboration. Another Barron original, “Clouds” is a lush vehicle for Ann Hampton Calloway’s romantic pitch-perfect yearnings matched with Barron’s trademark mastery of subtlety. The dramatic “Phantoms” intertwines Parlato’s ephemeral intimacy and syncopatic rhythms in an emotional escapade between Barron’s haunting notes, the West African stylings of guitarist Lionel Loueké, drummer Francisco Mela (who also adds a Cuban flavor to the vocals) and the driving bass of Kiyoshi Kitagawa. The journey continues with the aptly named “Duet” an improvisation with Benin-born Loueké who also joins the trio for a rousing version of Barron’s “Calypso”. A composer who relishes in the moment, Barron’s modern approach is highlighted by alto saxophonist Steve Wilson’s open musings on “Illusion” and “The Traveler” who also brings an urgency to the fun-paced “Speed Trap”.
After a successful musical meeting of the minds with bassist Dave Holland, the two masters decided to collaborate on a duet project to be released on Impulse/Universal records in 2014 followed by a tour.
Barron consistently wins the jazz critics and readers polls, including Downbeat, Jazz Times and Jazziz magazines. The famed Spanish ceramist Lladro honored Mr. Barron with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 and he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from his alma mater SUNY Empire State in 2013 and from Berklee College of Music in 2011. In 2009 he received the Living Legacy Award from Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation and was inducted into the American Jazz Hall of Fame and won a MAC Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005. He is a six-time recipient of Best Pianist by the Jazz Journalists Association.

Kish Robinson (KILO KISH) is an interdisciplinary artist and performer working in music, film, installation, performance, and written word. Her most extensive project is Kilo Kish, a solo music project exploring personal identity and cultural expectations. Musically, she has collaborated with Gorillaz, The Internet, Vince Staples, and Childish Gambino, amongst others, garnering attention since her debut in 2011. Kish works in a project based format, diving into a wide range of genres and mediums to dissect her unsettled view of millennial life. Over the years, her creative practice has expanded to physical performances and directing films. Her music has been featured in Vogue, W Magazine, The New York Times, Pitchfork, Dazed, The Guardian, Billboard, and Fader. Kish has exhibited performance and film works with two solo installations at HVW8 Los Angeles. Additionally, Her videos have screened at the Getty Center, The Hammer Museum, and the Museum of Image and Sound in Brazil.

Australian experimental outfit King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have built a well-earned reputation as one of the most prolific, adventurous and inventive bands of all time. Since 2010, the band have released 25 studio albums, which range from expansive jazz-rock, to spaghetti Western soundscapes, semi-acoustic cosmic ballads, sci-fi prog, kaleidoscopic garage rock, thrash metal, explorations of microtonal tunings, kraut-rock and more. King Gizzard's prolific nature has led them to release music at a frenetic pace, and their intense desire to seek out new sounds and follow new creative paths means that every one of their multitude of releases sounds different from the last. Often released in swift progression of one another (notably, the band released five albums in 2017, and again in 2022, with three in the month of October 2022 alone) King Gizzard have taken the traditional rules of the industry of music making and thrown them out the window. Their intense stage shows and the puzzle-like intricacies of their records have attracted a global fanbase of dedicated Gizzheads, while their Bootlegger program - which sees the band make their music available to independent record labels for free - results in hundreds of variations of certain releases, across vinyl, cassette and CD. Formed in 2010 in Melbourne, Australia, by a group of friends who jammed casually, the lineup consists of Stu Mackenzie, Ambrose Kenny-Smith, Cook Craig, Joey Walker, Lucas Harwood, and Michael Cavanagh.

Dennis Thomas aka KING KONG is an iconic 1980s Jamaican artist such as Tenor Saw and Nitty Gritty. He began his career in 1982 and was noticed very early by producer King Tubby for whom he recorded many singles such as 'Step On Dem Corn', 'Aids' and
'Babylon' on the label Firehouse. In 1985, when digital music took over the instrumental music, King Kong recorded the famous duo 'Two big Bull Ina One Pen' with Anthony Red Rose.
At the end of 1985 and in 1986, he worked with King Jammy and recorded the hits 'Legal We Legal', 'Trouble Again' and 'Mix Up'. At the same time, King Kong recorded for Black Scorpio, Bunny Lee and Prince Jazzbo. In the late 1980s, he moved to the United States and Canada, where he founded the label Conscious Music .
In 1989, he recorded the single 'He Was A Friend' in tribute to Tenor Saw. A few years later, he left for London and worked with Mafia & Fluxy, Fashion Records and Gussie P. He also collaborated with the label Massive B, based in New York. He recorded a dubplate called 'Call Mr Madden' in 1990. Two years later, Bobby Konders decided to release this dubplate single and the song became a hit on the dancehall scene. A few years later, the Fugees used this title for their biggest hit 'Fu-Gee-La'. Despite all the presence of King Kong in the world of reggae was sporadic.
After being released from prison in 1996 and deported to Jamaica, he returned to King jammy and recorded 'Seize All Guns' and 'Break Down The Walls', but it was Massive B who rediscovered his talent and artistic abilities; he recorded 'Jah Is My Best Friend', 'Earth Is The Lord' and 'I Feel A Joy'. King Kong then moved to Ethiopia in 2007.
King Kong will release in 2012 his 10th album in collaboration with the Netherland label King Shiloh entitled Ethiopian Dream. After few singles like 'Sweet Rub A Dub' and the cover of the 'Door Peeper', King Kong realised in 2017 an EP called “In The Old Capital” composed of 5 tracks and 5 dub version produced by Old Capital Records.
2018 marks a renewal for this artist who released an excellent album entitled 'Repatriation' alongside the label Irie Ites Records. King Kong's discography includes no less than 12 albums and hundreds of singles in his 35 years of career. This latest opus will surely mark the minds of fans of the artist!

After appearing as collaborators on each other’s songs Swiss producer Pablo Nouvelle and English multi-instrumentalist Kinnship have joined forces for an entire album; “Stones & Geysers”. 

The two producers complement each other to stunning effect with the album.  The music manages to capture an atmosphere of departure and optimism which is one of the underlining themes of the album. The gorgeous ethereal vocal melodies of Kinnship float atop the electronic beats and mantra-like rhythms of Nouvelle’s production.

Kino Doscun works on the fusion of oriental instruments with experimental sound design and dub grooves. He plays Oud and Saz on his own productions, from deep psychedelic dub to more energetic midtempo grooves.
Youthie brings her universe with the sound of her flute, trumpet and accordion; from balkan music to tango, she mixes dub with many world music influences. 

 They have already  collaborated on their respective projects: Kino Doscun's album "Sabir", released in 2021 on Merkaba Music, and Youthie's album "The Roots Explorers" released in 2022 on her label Youthie Records.

Kitchen Dwellers twist bluegrass, folk, and rock through a kaleidoscope of homegrown stories, rich mythology, American west wanderlust, and psychedelic hues. The Montana quartet—Shawn Swain [Mandolin], Torrin Daniels [banjo], Joe Funk [upright bass], and Max Davies [acoustic guitar]—have captivated audiences at hallowed venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and performed alongside everyone from Railroad Earth and Twiddle to The Infamous String Dusters in addition to playing festivals such as Northwest String Summit, WinterWonderGrass, and more. They’ve released two critically acclaimed albums—Ghost In The Bottle [2017] and Muir Maid [2019]—and a live record, Live from the Wilma [2021]. In the middle of the Global Pandemic, they broke up 2020 with an EP of Pink Floyd covers entitled Reheated, Vol. 2. It was heralded by a two-night livestream concert, Live From The Cabin, beamed out to audiences from the Bridger Mountains. Additionally, they appeared at the Live From Out There virtual festival and even took over a drive-in movie theater for an in-person gig in between regular writing sessions together throughout the year. After amassing 5 million-plus streams, selling out shows, and receiving acclaim from Huffington Post, Relix, American Songwriter, and more, the group brings audiences back to Big Sky Country on their third full-length album, Wise River, working with Cory Wong of Vulfpeck as producer.

Klein is an artist and musician whose work often blurs the lines between fact and fiction. Her music releases, films, and performances are often informed by urban mapping, surveillance, humor, hip-hop, noise, identity, and beyond. In addition to her practice, Klein approaches drawing, sculpture and video work as 'investigative journalism' employing spatial reconstruction, speculative mapping, and archival layering to uncover hidden narratives and emotional truths. Her work has been shown and/or performed at Museums, Galleries, yards, squats, pubs, stage and screen.

Kodomo is moniker for electronic music producer and composer Chris Child, based in Brooklyn, New York.  The alias, Kodomo, the Japanese word for "child" references his upbringing in Japan.  

His debut album Still Life, was released in 2008 on 5 Points Records, followed by 2011’s Frozen In Motion and 2014’s Patterns & Light. Divider was released in 2017, and his latest LP, Three Spheres is set for release on the Brooklyn based label FOIL Imprints in September 2021.. 

Child is also an Emmy award winning TV composer and has contributed music for a handful of games developed by Harmonix, including 2016’s Amplitude for the Sony PS4 game console and Rock Band.  His music has also been used by NPR on several news show including Morning Edition, All Things Considered and This American Life.


Kodomo

Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, dit Koffi Olomidé, est né le 13 juillet 1956 à Stanleyville, dans l'ex-Congo belge. Il est auteur-compositeur-interprète, producteur musical et polémiste de la République Démocratique du Congo.

Après avoir débuté en tant que parolier pour divers musiciens de la scène congolaise, il se fait remarquer par le public en 1977 grâce à la chanson *Synza*, interprétée en trio avec Papa Wemba et King Kester Emeneya.

En 1986, il fonde et dirige l'orchestre *Quartier Latin International*, qui l'accompagnera sur scène et sur ses albums à partir de 1992. Cet orchestre verra passer des futurs stars de la musique, tels que Fally Ipupa ou Ferre Gola. Sa carrière connaît un second essor en 1990 lorsqu’il rejoint le label Sonodisc.

Avec près de cinq décennies de carrière, il devient le premier artiste noir-africain à remplir la salle de Bercy et figure parmi les 12 artistes musiciens africains cités dans l'ouvrage Les 1001 albums qu'il faut avoir écoutés dans sa vie.

Krishna Kaul, known mononymously as Krishna, stylised now as KR$NA, (previously as Krsna; known formerly as YoungProzpekt) is an Indian rapper. He was one of the earliest rappers to emerge in the Indian hip hop scene in the mid-2000s under the stage name Prozpekt. He is widely acknowledged within the Desi hip-hop community for pioneering a lyrical revolution in the genre, infusing a new wave of poetic depth and lyrical complexity into hip-hop's narrative. He was also briefly featured in the 2019 Bollywood film Gully Boy as himself.
