Benjamin Vndredi est un artiste polyvalent ; auteur, interprète et surtout compositeur de musique depuis près de 20 ans. Il pratique le piano depuis son plus jeune âge. Entamant son apprentissage musical à travers le classique et le jazz, il a ensuite délaissé l’approche dite scolaire pour se lancer dans la composition sous le pseudonyme « Dee Eye ».

Soucieux d’offrir aux auditeurs une proposition artistique originale et recherchée, il décide de s’essayer au chant et développe un goût pour l’interprétation. Sa musique est représentée par des mélodies prenantes, presque cinématographiques et accompagnées d'une certaine mélancolie.

L’émergence de cette nouvelle identité a été, pour lui, un moyen de se reconnecter avec l’essence même de son choix professionnel.

After several years in LA fronting bands of his own, and a cliched journey with alcoholism, multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Bates decided to take a break from the industry and started to make music under the name Big Black Delta. This was a time when UFOs were still a stoner campside conversation killer. The black triangles in the sky are the number one reported type of sightings. It also fits with his obsession of sacred geometry. "Making music for people while they figure out their own answers to things. Or not. I'm not your dad."

Markel Scott, otherwise known as Bishop Nehru is an American rapper and producer, famed for bringing a fresh sound to the hip hop table.

His passion for music surfaced as soon as he reached 13, writing jazz music and creating hip hop beats. Markel’s 8-bar freestyle over Mos Def’s ‘Mathematics’ grabbed media attention, earning him WorldStarHipHop’s title – Youth Rap Talent of the week, in 2008.

By the time Bishop Nehru was just 15 years old, he dropped the debut mixtape, Nehruvia. Comprised of 13 tracks, it boasted productions from J. Dllla, MF Doom, DJ Premier and Madlib.

Since Bishop’s signing to Nas’ label, Mass Appeal Records in 2014, he has gone on to release music at an incredibly consistent rate. By 2014 he collaborated with MF Doom on NehruvianDoom and in 2016, his track ‘The Alert’ featured on Mattrix Mixtape – We’re Going Worldwide Volume 1, Presented by Matthew Rix. That same year, he dropped an entire LP, titled Magic 19.

In 2017, Bishop Nehru released a string of albums, including Emperor Nehru’s New Groove, Strictly Flowz and Nehruvia. On the 16th March 2018, Markel Scott dropped his highly anticipated album ‘Elevators: Act I & II’, produced by MF Doom and Kaytranada. Leading music magazine, Rolling Stone featured the LP on their list of “10 Best Rap Releases of the Month”, praising it as a hip hop Pet Sounds and a “penchant for wide-eyed lyricism”.

Having performed the opening for Wu-Tang Clan’s 20th Anniversary, Bishop Nehru is a fresh rapper who is earning the respect of some of the greatest in the game.

He has had songs released with Gold and Platinum selling acts such as Demi Lovato, Big Freedia, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, and K-Pop idols, amongst many other celebrated artists. Once signed to Columbia Records, Bleu has released 6 studio albums, various cult side projects, and now often works directly with some of the biggest labels, film/TV studios, and show runners in the industry. His music has been featured by networks and brands all over the world including eBay, Swarovski, Bose, and hit shows like Shameless, The Good Place, and Insecure. Bleu wrote and/or produced all the songs for Disney’s Legend Of The Neverbeast film including a duet with Grammy nominated KT Tunstall, and he recently scored his first HBO docu-series The Murders At Starved Rock. BLK ODYSSY is an Austin based artist and producer whose unique sound blends influences from artists like Kendrick Lamar, D’Angelo, Outkast, and Funkadelic. He grew up surrounded by Neo-soul in inner-city Plainfield, New Jersey. At age 12, his older brother was unjustly killed by the police. This loss, alongside his experiences growing up black and male in 21st Century America, motivated his expression through music. The debut Album “BLK VINTAGE'' self-written and produced, reflects his matured continued celebration and critique of what it means to be black in America.

Between a guitar teacher who went to jail after only four classes and multiple denials from record labels, BLOWSOM had to rely really quickly on his unstoppable drive to write hisv artistic story.

Far from traditional trajectories and music academy’s benches, BLOWSOM took cover behind his computer and it’s with the help of the internet that the young Arnaud learned each instrument, one by one: drums, bass, keyboard and of course guitar, he learned it all. It’s thanks to this musical knowledge, that BLOWSOM is able to share his story with the
world. 

When the labels’ door stayed closed, BLOWSOM naturally decided to create his own label: 1901 Records, to gift his music to anyone who’d like to hear it. Under a year after the release of 1901 - PART I, his first EP completely auto produced, BLOWSOM is back with 1901 - PART II, new chapter set to come out on May 27th. 

Funny and touching at the same time, BLOWSOM’s spontaneity and the awkwardness of his irony (that became his brand on social media), allow the artist to wander all fields of image without ever being off topic. Following his graduation from the University of Chicago in 2018, South Florida-raised rapper Blvck Svm found himself struggling to break through as an artist. After losing his job as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, he contemplated quitting music and moving home to find a regular job and apply to grad schools. But ultimately he decided to stay in Chicago and give music one last shot.   Svm decided to release a series of biweekly singles as a last-ditch effort to rejuvenate his career. The first single of that series, “Bleach,” released March 2020, caught fire a few months after its release, and it completely changed Svm’s trajectory. After 2+ years of consistent biweekly/triweekly releases, Svm has propelled himself into the full-time rapper position he has always envisioned.

A GRAMMY®-nominated saxophonist, composer, producer and educator, Bobby Watson trained formally at the University of Miami and then, from 1977-1981, earned his “doctorate” as musical director of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and appeared on 14 of the group’s recordings, more than anyone else in the ensembles 35-year existence. In addition to Blakey, Watson, early on the saxophonist worked with notable jazz icons such as Max Roach, Louis Hayes, George Coleman and Sam Rivers we well as working with peers and colleagues alike including, but certainly not limited to: Branford Marsalis; Wynton Marsalis; and vocalists Joe Williams, Dianne Reeves, Lou Rawls, Betty Carter and Carmen Lundy.

An association with bassist Curtis Lundy and drummer Victor Lewis led Watson to launch the first edition of Horizon, the highly acclaimed acoustic quintet. He has also led the High Court of Swing (a tribute to the music of Johnny Hodges), The Tailor Made Big Band and is a founding member of the highly acclaimed 29th Street Saxophone Quartet. Watson also wrote original music for the sound track of Robert DeNiro’s directorial debut, A Bronx Tale. To date, the saxophonist has recorded 38 records as a leader and appears on close to if not an additional 100 recordings.

More than 100 Bobby Watson compositions have been recorded. Second Floor Music, his long-time publisher, makes his original combo and big band arrangements to other performers and educators. After a string of recordings for the Palmetto label, Watson released a pair of self-produced titles. The Gates BBQ Suite (2011), celebrates his hometown’s most famous food product with the music and track titles referencing the one-time family business. At the time of its release Gates became the perfect vehicle for his University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) jazz students, who participate in school’s Watson-directed program. Watson’s most recent release, Check Cashing Day (2013), honors the Civil Rights Movement in general and specifically the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King’s famed “I Have A Dream” speech. His latest release, Made in America (Smoke Sessions, 2017) pays tribute to the lesser-known giants of American Black History. 

In 2000, after three decades in New York where he stood among the world’s most elite jazz musicians, Watson, at UMKC’s administration invitation, returned to Kansas City where he was awarded the first William and Mary Grant/Missouri Professor of Jazz as an endowed chair; part and parcel with the appointment, the saxophonist became UMKC’s Director of Jazz Studies, a position he continues to hold today. 

Watson has received a number of well-deserved awards recognizing his musical contributions during what is now more than a four-decade career. In 2011 the saxophonist was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of fame. In 2013 he received the prestigious Benny Golson Jazz Masters Award from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Simultaneously, Rep. John Conyers honored Watson by officially recognizing his work in the Congressional Record. On August 23, 2014, coincidentally Watson’s 61st birthday, he was selected as one of the first inductees into the then-newly established 18th and Vine “Jazz Walk of Fame.” He joined Pat Metheny as the only other living selection along with four of the city’s jazz icons: Count Basie, Jay McShann, Charlie Parker and Mary Lou Williams. 

While Watson continues to further develop and maintain UMKC’s Jazz Studies Departments, and making it into one of the country’s finest jazz programs, he also maintains an ongoing touring schedule traveling the world over either as a guest educator, band member or leading his own ensembles. In April 2015, he reunited after two decades with two of his longest standings collaborators bassist Ray Drummond and drummer Marvin “Smitty” Smith – as well as working with second generation pianist Keith Brown, son of Donald Brown, receiving across-the-board critical acclaim under the cooperative banner known as the National Pastimes Productions All-Stars.

Outre ses expérimentations musicales dans son EP "Dragons" ou ses vidéos comico-sonores comme "Confinement musical" et "Donald Trump", Bolivard est capable de composer de véritables petits tubes radio comme "La vie" (qu'on a pu entendre sur Europe 1 et France Inter) ou son remix de "Who Says" de Dopamoon (playlisté par Radio Nova).

« Real music by real musicians » avait coutume de dire Prince. Comme lui, le trompettiste Boney Fields appartient à cette génération d’artistes Afro-Américains nés pour dompter la scène.

Aussi n’est-ce pas un hasard si ses partenaires de jeu se nomment Lucky Peterson, Luther Allison, James Cotton, Buddy Guy, Liz Mc Comb, mais aussi George Clinton, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley ou Bootsy Collins.

Le funk et le blues, ces deux versants d’une même Great Black Music, Boney Fields les fusionne fidèlement et avec tout le savoir-faire d’une carrière passée à arpenter les scènes du monde entier.

Quant il débute sa carrière, cet enfant d’une famille nombreuse de Chicago a conscience qu’il aurait pu mal tourner. Mais entre le chant des ghettos et le chant Gospel dont ses parents se font l’écho, Boney Fields choisit une voix singulière, la sienne, qu’il enrichit de la pratique d’un instrument, la trompette. Chanteur et trompettiste, sa double casquette le propulse de sessions en sessions auprès de tous ces monstres sacrés. Il les accompagne en studio ou en tournée, non sans composer à ses heures « perdues » de savants arrangements pour section de cuivres, dans la lignée de Tower of Power ou de Earth Wind & Fire.

Loin des paillettes du Show Biz, c’est sur scène que Boney Fields apprend le métier et enrichit son art. Les tournées sont longues, la route pas toujours luxueuse. Peu importe les carences de sommeil ou le nombre de kilomètres parcourus, Boney Fields ne vit que pour la scène.

C’est là qu’il finit par forger son propre style, un métissage rétro futuriste de blues et de funk cuivré. Une esthétique bien à lui qu’il déploie sur disque comme sur scène à la tête de sa propre formation, un septet de choc qui a depuis longtemps percé la formule magique du groove des origines. Boney Fields & son Band, partout où ils passent, laissent derrière eux comme une trainée de poudre hautement énergétique et jubilatoire.

Showman infatigable, Boney Fields fait voyager sa musique aux quatre coins de la planète, invité de prestigieux festivals tels que Jazz à Vienne, Jazz in Marciac, Madajazzcar, Tabarka Jazz Festival… C’est durant ces shows qu’il rôde le vibrant répertoire de son 6ème album, un disque réalisé avec l’aide d’un collectif renouvelé de musiciens.

Et c’est sur ces mêmes scènes qu’il faudra venir le voir jouer sa nouvelle collection de « vraies » chansons, interprétées, comme disait Prince, « par de vrais musiciens »

After years of honing his production & songwriting skills under different monikers, Boy Sim made his first mark on the pop music scene in early 2016. He released his breakout track “Animals” on Calm Records, a UK based label. The song quickly became an underground pop anthem. Since his debut, he has released several smash singles leading up to the release of his debut mixtape “Pink Noise” which features an all-star cast of producers and vocalists released on Chicago based label Palettes.

Born & raised in Brownsville, Texas- Boy Sim began performing & writing songs at the age of 12. If you ever get the chance to catch him live- his musical theatre background is evident. He is an alumni of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, where the likes of Erykah Badu, Norah Jones and several other stars have attended. Boy Sim went on to study audio engineering in Los Angeles. Since then, he has performed at SXSW, opened for Charli XCX & Dorian Electra at Femmebot Fantasy, and embarked on a nation-wide sold out tour opening for Slayyyter. He spends his time collaborating on music with friends and looks forward to a long career in music.

Boyish was formed by India Shore and Claire Altendahl in 2016. They met at Berklee College of Music when India needed a guitarist for an audition tape and Claire volunteered. Their musical compatibility quickly became apparent and they started collaborating soon after under the name "The Blue”. The duo went on to write and produce their debut project Carnation in 2018, which received positive write-ups from several publications. The New Yorker described them as “looking uncertainty straight in the eye in songs that are confident in their musicality even when tackling themes of angst and doubt“. Carnation was nominated for Alt-Country Album of the Year at the Independent Music Awards. 

Boyish released their most recent EP “We’re all gonne die, but here’s my contribution” on May 28th of 2021. The project received praise from Nylon, NPR, Ones To Watch, Them., The GLAAD Wrap, and Lyrical Lemonade. The lead single “Superstar” has been streamed over 400,000 times and was added to Spotify playlists such as “Fresh Finds”, “Lorem”, “All New Indie”, and “Softly”. Their single “whatshisname” was played on BBC Radio 6 and their third and final single “Your Best Friend” was featured as the KUTX Song of The Day.

Maryland raised saxophonist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, Braxton Cook is a status-
quo challenging artist who first broke out on the scene with his 2017 release of his solo debut album Somewhere in Between. Heavily influenced by John Coltrane, Kenny Garrett and Frank Ocean, Braxton mixes the improvisatory elements of jazz and the soulful melodies of R&B and deeply emotional songwriting into a fresh sound all his own. His music pulls from his experience as a Millennial Black jazz musician in America and his music aims to speak to the margins in society.
While still a student at The Juilliard School, Braxton began his career touring the world with trumpeter Christian Scott. During this time Braxton recorded and released his first EP
called Sketch (2014), quickly followed by Braxton Cook meets Butcher Brown (2015). Following the release of Somewhere in Between (2017), Braxton toured the album internationally performing in London, Japan and across the United States. The album had 4 tracks that landed on Spotify's Top 50 Viral in the U.S. playlist. Shortly thereafter, multiple tracks from the album were listed on State of Jazz and Alternative R&B playlists and Braxton was later placed on the cover of The Butter Playlist. In Spring of 2018, Braxton worked with a number of West Coast producers (Swarvy, Kiefer, Allmos) to create a collaborative project called Somewhere in Between: Remixes & Outtakes.
Braxton most recently released his sophomore album No Doubt (2018) which debuted at #2 on the iTunes Jazz Charts and amassed over 1M streams in the first few weeks. In addition, as a leader, Braxton now has his first international tour under his belt and plans to continue touring and releasing music to his growing fan base in the coming year.

Bren Joy was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, and started writing music at the start of 2018.

Joy takes pride in imperfection, pointing to the raw, organic nature of East Coast artistry as inspiration for his instrumental landscape. He gathers collaborators, namely in the folk, alt and jazz houses, to blend with his Alt-R&B nature. These varying dynamics mimic the different aspects of love Joy explores, each eventually pointing to the importance of self discovery. Love, in any instance––whether a beautiful or difficult experience––ultimately manifests itself as an important learning curve.

Sur scène, elle surclasse les rappeurs dans des battles à l’ancienne, verre de chardonnay à la main et manteau cintré sur les épaules. Sur disque, entre chant et rap, elle évoque sans complexe sa sexualité et le désir féminin. Elisa Brolli, de son vrai nom, aime “penser en dehors des cases”.

“Hybride” est certainement le mot qui la définit le mieux. A l’adolescence, le jour, elle chante les poèmes qu’elle écrit, en français et en anglais, sur les compositions du groupe pop-rock dont elle fait partie. Et la nuit, dans sa chambre, elle s’entraîne à kicker les textes les plus techniques des rappeurs américains, Eminem en tête, pour briller en soirée. De la poésie elle gardera le sens de la formule qui percute l’esprit ; de ses karaokés nocturnes, le goût de la performance.

Aujourd’hui la jeune artiste de 25 ans mêle le tout dans une fusion des genres portée par ses deux musiciens, Jules à la guitare et au piano, et Elie à la basse et aux machines notamment. Ensemble, ils mixent leur amour du rap avec des influences soul-funk et RnB, s’essayent au jazz, s’inspirent de musiques brésiliennes, d’électro… Il en ressort un son organique, teinté de groove, sur lequel la voix envoûtante de Brö navigue au gré de ses flows riches en mélodies.

managed to splice together two incredibly prestigious and loved genres, in order to create what can 
only be described as "a huge, mosh-inducing, battering, energetic and manic
machine" This all culminates into one hell of a mad and rowdy show and this band knows,

The band boasts two furious guitarists, a booming bassist, who also adds pummelling backing vocals, 
a rabid machine of a drummer and a tenacious, ferocious and venomous frontman.
They are an extremely energetic, aggressive, fun and rowdy band,
who will spark adrenaline and movement into any crowd that they play to!

Les journalistes doivent parfois redoubler d’imagination pour définir au mieux l’univers de certains artistes, en particulier lorsque ces derniers assument des partis-pris artistiques aussi marqués que ceux de Butter Bullets depuis dix ans. Le groupe a pourtant simplifié la tâche de toute la profession en synthétisant l’essentiel de son esthétique directement dans le titre de son album : Noir Métal. 

Toujours plus profondément sombre et négatif, Sidisid -le rappeur affiche ainsi pendant un peu moins d’une heure une malveillance à la limite du sadisme (“le rap c’est une pute et j’le mène à la baguette”, 45 Scientific), tandis que Dela -le beatmaker s’applique à sublimer la cruauté de son binôme avec des productions aussi oppressantes que précises. Butter Bullets brille dans la noirceur, à l’image de certains trous noirs plus lumineux que des galaxies entières. 

Treize ans après Les Nouveaux Romantiques, Butter Bullets a perdu en cours de route la majorité de ses illusions, ne conservant qu’une exigence artistique démesurée et un amour aussi sincère pour les belles choses que pour les idées malsaines (“tout en noir comme Donatella à l’enterrement de Gianni”). Né au sein d’une scène marginale de la musique française (Crack Bizz, 2007), le groupe s’est inséré dans le monde du rap avec Peplum (2012) et Memento Mori (2015), avant de le rejeter lentement mais sûrement avec Air Mès et Hermax (2018) et donc Noir Métal (2019).
