At the age of 15, Emmanuel ROSE bought his first synthesizer. A YAMAHA SY22! He first became familiar with MIDI, which stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, then used it to compose his music in the 90s (Singles: Overland, Lueur, Objectif…)

It is a communications protocol and file format dedicated to music and used for communication between electronic instruments, controllers, sequencers and computers.
Between 1970 and 1980, the challenge was to define a common standard that all manufacturers would use in order to be able to easily control several synthesizers, of different brands, from the same keyboard or a digital sequencer for example.
Launched in 1985, the Atari ST computer popularized the MIDI standard among musicians, notably thanks to its integrated MIDI sockets and the quality of software sequencers, such as those developed by Steinberg.
