Rahsheed, alias Maylay Sparks, presents the New Genre of Futuristic Hip Hop !! His excellent reputation has so far almost exclusively been enjoyed in insider circles is mainly due to the fact that most of his productions to date have only been available as imports. Philadelphian MC probably tops the list of American rappers who collaborated most with European artists. Not strange: the last two decades, he's been living in Sweden and Denmark. Rahsheed and Illadvised, of which Baby Blak is also a member, has already been firing up underground heads for years. Together with The High & Mighty(Rawkus), Rahsheed was also one of original members the Eastern Conference label in 1995. In 1999 working with Los Angeles based independent label ReadyRock Records , Rahsheed aka Maylay Sparks was givin honorable mention in Time Magazine’s Hip Hop Tribute Edition featuring Lauryn Hill , for “ Unusual Styles / Imani , noted as one of the best independent releases of the year. Shortly thereafter signing his 1st Major deal with Joe Nicolo’s (RuffHouse/Columbia ) , new imprint Judgement Records /RCA. The Relocating to Copenhagen. Rahsheed has become firmly anchored in the hip-hop scene over the past two decades. With the release of “Graymatter “ on Rapster Records/K7 in 2004 , “The Ill Collabo” on Hotshit/Sony in 2005 & Flaskworthy released 2010 on Soulspazm , have all received international acclaim , along with many collaborative projects until present day. His tracks tower above the usual hip-hop standards, far ahead of the densely occupied pack. Now recently reacquainted with his old label owner Joe “The Butcher “ , his newest release “Frozen Mugs” (Blacbird/Universal) 2021. Various other features , releases and international discography can be found on all media platforms notable online record shops & boutiques .
