Description

The Bayan Mongol big band was established in 1967 and performed their debut concert which was conducted by T. Chimeddorj (State Honoured Artist) in 1969. This very concert not only was the beginning of the development of the Estrada and the jazz music genre in Mongolia, but also released many renowned singers, musicians, composers, and conductors of its genre. Fascinated by the bewitching tune of jazz music and without even knowing the flow of time, these men had dedicated their talents to the music they endear as well as passing it to future generations, guardian the immortality of it.

The Bayan Mongol Big Band aims to cultivate, promote, and expand the knowledge of Mongolian classic jazz both nationally and globally. The Bayan Mongol performs in the biggest form of a big band, which is a type of musical ensemble of jazz music that consists of 20 musicians with four sections: saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and rhythm section. The current chief conductor of the Bayan Mongol Big Band is S. Saruul-Od. The Big Band expands its repertoire by performing folk song remixes, soundtracks of movies and documentaries, radio shows, and musicals.

From international classic jazz to modern jazz, the Bayan Mongol Big Band has been successfully developing and advancing the knowledge of jazz music. In 2019, Bayan Mongol Big Band has promoted State award prize by The President of Mongolia.

Tour The Bayan Mongol big band expanded its repertoire and improved the quality of performance under the batons of many renowned guest composers and conductors, conductor Eddy Gaitan, Raymond Calisado, Ray Montesinos and Rembers from Cuba, Bulgarian conductor Krill Ekinomov and Michael Luzi, Martin Zenker and Peter Reiter from Germany.
Moreover, the big band also made tour performances in Cuba, China, Germany, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Uzbekistan.

This exclusive album only pressed in total 500 pcs worldwide only 200 copies from that available outside of the Mongolian market.
