In just a few years, Zimbabwean-born singer-songwriter Tkay Maidza has emerged from the underground to become one of Australia's most interesting artists. With her machine gun flow, frenetic beats and ultra-original lyrics, and after seducing tastemakers around the world with her debut tracks 'U-Huh', 'Brontosaurus', 'Ghost' and her first EP 'Switch Tape', she has built a reputation for her live performances, opening for Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Troye Sivan and Years & Years.
Tkay went on to be nominated for Best International Act at the 2016 BET Awards, and lends her voice to the 2016 hit 'Do It Right' by Martin Solveig. In early 2017 she unveiled her self-titled debut album 'TKAY', in which she brings danceable energy as well as depth to each track. In her lyrics, Maidza finds a perfect balance between boldness and vulnerability that give 'TKAY' a strong emotional power
