Description

“L’eden dei lunatici” (“The Eden Of Lunatics”) is an album full of guitars and synths, yet it is not a rock record. Its nature is melodic but it could not exist without the sound of the electric bass and its groove, therefore it is an eminently danceable album. Its flavor comes from the latin and tropical approach to Funk which deeply influenced part of Italian pop music in the late 1970s. Very relaxed on the surface, but with a quite present vein of restlessness that smolders in the ashes, it is recommended to people who already appreciate the music of Lucio Battisti, Alan Sorrenti, Lucio Dalla, Ivan Graziani, Enzo Carella, Ivano Fossati.

Umberto Palazzo has been a singer, musician and producer since the early 80 with the Italian alternative rock bands Allison Run, Massimo Volume, Santo Niente and El Santo Nada. His first solo singer/songwriter album “Canzoni della notte e della controra” won the Lunezia Prize in 2010. In 2020 Umberto Palazzo released the dreamy and funk album of vintage italian pop “L’Eden dei lunatici” via Diggers Factory. He is a dj and a movie score composer and now is back with his new album "Belvedere Orientale" that follows in the steps of the previous album adding some british and balearic flavor.
