Description

A down to earth declaration on the whirlwind roller coasters that come with young Black British womanhood, ‘Am I An Adult Yet?’ sees Lizzie boldly summon feelings of questioning, searching, longing and uncertainty.

Comprised of 6-tracks produced alongside long-time collaborators Hilts and Talos, the self-examining subject matter present on ‘Am I An Adult Yet?’ is adorned and accented with plush, psychedelic and symphonic production that recalls the work of Floetry, Tweet, Jill Scott and Vivian Green and explores a range of sounds from neo-soul and jazz to gospel, blues and classical music.

Listeners are invited to witness an illuminating journey across Lizzie's state of mind as she comes to a place of inner peace and acceptance of things she can’t control. Painting a mosaic that taps into the commonalities and shared experiences that arise when navigating the thorny and unpredictable nature of one’s 20s. In the end, creating a listening experience that is communal and yields mutual understanding between the throes of people who live and fall between the intersections of being black and a young adult.
