Harachan

Harachan was born somewhere between a Tokyo karaoke joint and a late-night ramen shop—a nickname gifted to Norwegian writer and director Harald Furuholmen by friends who couldn’t quite pronounce his name. Splitting his time between Oslo and Tokyo, Harachan draws inspiration from classic City Pop, singing in Japanese, english and blending vintage grooves with personal storytelling. His debut vinyl, produced by Magnus Bechmann Hansen, is a warm, synth-soaked postcard from another time. Harachan（ハラチャン）は、東京のカラオケルームと深夜のラーメン屋の間で生まれました。日本の友人たちに名前をうまく発音してもらえなかったことから、ノルウェー出身の作家・映画監督ハラルド・フルホルメンに贈られた愛称です。 オスロと東京を行き来しながら、Harachanは80年代のシティポップにインスパイアされ、日本語で歌い、自身の物語をレトロなグルーヴにのせて表現しています。プロデューサーのマグナス・ベクマン・ハンセンとの共作によるデビューアナログ盤は、まるで別の時代から届いた、あたたかくてシンセに包まれたポストカードのような作品です。
