DJ Tempo / Tempo Music (born Lee Jennings, 18 May 1982) is a British DJ, producer, and label founder whose sound blends the uplifting spirit of 00s eurodance with modern EDM energy. Known for euphoric melodies, powerful drops, and emotionally driven vocals, his music carries a message of resilience, recovery, and finding light after darkness.
Born in Kent and now based in Scotland, Jennings discovered music after a life-changing mountain biking accident that nearly cost him his life. Following medical discharge from the Royal Army Medical Corps, he turned to production as a form of therapy, teaching himself FL Studio during recovery in Swansea. What began as personal healing soon became a creative rebirth.
Starting as a DJ, Tempo drew early inspiration from artists like Jan Wayne, DJ Shog, and DJ Splash, shaping a style rooted in classic trance and happy hardcore but reimagined for today’s dancefloors. In 2007 he signed with Dance Jam Music and released his debut album The Hits, gaining support from respected names including Lange and Basshunter. He later launched his own imprint, Tempo Music, to release independent projects and nurture new creative freedom.
DJ Tempo’s performances are known for high-energy builds, sing-along hooks, and a feel-good atmosphere, often closing with his signature send-off: “Max love, Peace Out X.” Beyond the music, Jennings speaks openly about PTSD, trauma, and mental health, using his platform to encourage others to heal through creativity.
His upcoming album UNMUTED marks a bold new chapter—an uplifting celebration of survival, family, and the power of sound to bring people home.
