David García, better known as Cookin Soul, is a Grammy Award–winning producer and DJ from Spain. His musical journey began early, inspired by his mother’s James Brown cassette tapes. By age nine he was experimenting with DJ equipment and vinyl, and by fourteen he was already crafting beats on his PC.

Emerging in the early 2000s through platforms like MySpace, Cookin Soul’s unique blend of classic soul and modern hip-hop quickly drew global attention. His breakthrough came in 2005 with Spanish rapper Nach’s album, followed by collaborations with Nipsey Hussle, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Freddie Gibbs and many others.

Known for fusing soul, funk, jazz, and boom bap, Cookin Soul has released 25+ Vinyl LPs, 20 remix tapes, and countless instrumental projects. His versatility has led him to produce on platinum and gold albums for artists worldwide, solidifying his reputation as one of hip-hop’s most respected producers.

Now based in Amsterdam with his wife MC Melodee and their three children, Cookin Soul continues to push creative boundaries—bridging classic hip-hop and modern sound design. His YouTube channel (580K+ subscribers) showcases beat-making sessions and tutorials, inspiring the next generation of producers.
