Brand New Adult, sonically, hovers somewhat between Yacht-pop and New Triphop. There's many different influences, although I would have a hard time listing anything literal. BNA was written in a time where I felt cynical, about growing up, about love, about Modern Comforts taking over our lives at the expense of our mental health and collective intimacy. Nevertheless I was working through my own felt material, transforming what I experienced into music so that I could listen back, and dialogue with myself. I hoped that once shared, the album would offer other people something of a portal to travel through themselves. Somewhere between acceptance, frustration, integration and curiosity, an inner Brand New Adult would be waiting there for them too.
The album was written and produced by BEA1991, Benny Sings and Liam Coverdale Howe. Recordings took place between London, New York and Amsterdam. Dev Hynes plays bass on "Did You Feel Me Slip Away"? and Liam Howe plays the saxophone on "The Dream".
All lyrics and melodies written by BEA1991. Instrumentals were written in collaboration with Benny and Liam.
Brand New Adult was released through BE.AWORLD.

Beatriz de Rijke // bea1991, I'm a Dutch-English mixed media artist with a background in circus and aerial acrobatics. I describe myself as a pantheist, polyfocal artist, and I research the creative human existence.
Through my Artist Counseling practice, I support and counsel other artists in locating what I call the "pinnacle creative" - the ultimate inner maker, residing within their emotional landscape.
Next to writing and releasing music, I run a specialist brand called One Object Shop which focuses on offering my listeners elevated merchandise; original handmade designs, object collaborations and more.
