“This project for me was about proving to myself that I have the ability to tap back into the roots and sound that I initially came into hip hop with, just a little bit more evolved via reduction. I had spent weeks trying to figure out what to do with this collection of songs and I figured giving it to ya’ll before my birthday would be the best gift for everybody. I enjoyed the process of creating this project because this is one of the first times where I allowed myself to go into the booth and allow my consciousness to spill onto the record. Nothing pre-meditated or written out prior to recording.”
