This is the latest album by Picture Frame Seduction recorded at La Cabaña Home Studio, Cadiz by Trashtucada front man Ferdy Dominguez in May 2024. These recordings were done LIVE, no messing around for hours with additional guitar and vocal tracks, just as we know you like it. Side one is more UK82 hardcore punk, but with the usual PFS twists. Side two is far more radical in its composition and make up. Still heavy punk rock but with a slower and more tuneful side to the compositions. Not a departure from what you know this band can create, but most certainly infectious, catchy and delivered with passion. You make your own mind up.
This version of Wild/Life is a limited edition of only 100 copies, an investment for sure if you look at other short run vinyl this band has done. The original album, Hand of the Rider, once £3.99 can go for £200 on a good day. A collector's piece for sure, and most certainly proof if it were ever needed that punk still rules the waves across the world.
Picture Frame Seduction first came in to the punk rock scene in 1978, hailing from Haverfordwest in west Wales. As they progressed through their formative years they appeared on the UK82 album ‘Demolition Blues’ with an early hardcore punk track ‘Getcha Rox Off’ As soon as it became clear the band would have to spread their wings somewhat to gain further recognition to play concerts and festivals the original membership slowly left the fold.
Material for a debut album (Hand of the Rider) was recorded by the band, and indeed a debut single in 1983, (Good enough for me) the former on the Rot Records label, the latter with a local Welsh label with assistance via the Cartel called So So Records. Tracks from the album have appeared on a variety of compilation records all without the bands permission such as ‘The End Of An Era’ and ‘What are you going to do with that hole in your head’ Both on Rot records. A further compilation turned up around 1985 called ‘A kick up the ass’ again on the same label. The band feature in the best selling book, ‘Burning Britain a history of punk’ by Ian Glasper, and on the accompanying DVD.
Further albums have followed since those early heady days with shows alongside GBH, The Exploited, Peter & the test tube babies, UK Subs, English Dogs, Screaming Dead, The Oppressed, King Kurt, The Partisans, Anti Nowhere League and so many more. The band regularly appear at the Rebellion Festivals across Europe. Since two very successful UK tours the band has ticked along somewhat with reunion shows, festivals and shows in Europe, with too many to recall or mention.
For a brief discography have a look round for the albums, Sex War, Skateboarding down Merlin’s Hill with Penny Harry, reissues of Hand of the Rider (USA) Suicide Run, and a variety of tracks on many compilation discs and albums. A real collectors piece is the seven inch record ‘Interrupted Piss’ Picture Frame Seduction still play today (2024) managing their shows to larger audiences in Europe.
The band today are : Keith Vox, John Lead, Martin Rhythm, Dave Bass & Mish drums. They hail from their original country of Wales, England, Hong Kong, Türkiye and Latvia. Yes an International unit with a great new album for your listening pleasure
