L0rd B00my - 7718 - Hand numbered edition

Back in January of 2020, B00my dropped his debut album “Suspension”, and suspended he was. He was high off the exciting feeling of creating something that could be considered an album (At least by Spotify’s standards). He had grinded and achieved his goal even if the result was a little lack luster and rough around the edges. Accomplishing this inflated his ego astronomically and in result he became somewhat lazy and would post almost exclusively throwaway tracks to his Soundcloud account over the following months. B00my had been conceptualizing his next project, but there was no rush in it, and nothing was set in stone. That was until the fateful date of April 16th.

B00my just so happened to partake of some psychedelics that night. He had an argument with his brother prior over the drugs, but he insisted on taking them with or without his sibling. The night went well for the most part, until B00my started playing ACNH and began staring at the moon that was displayed on his TV screen. It began to eclipse two colors (cyan and pink) and danced wildly with the stars. The tapestries on B00my’s walls flashed with all sorts of symbols and glyphs. The biggest tapestry portrayed a moving image of two hands extending to clasp one another before slowly slipping from each others grip and then repeating in a cycle. Feeling a strong sense of duality, B00my leaned back on his couch and glanced at the ceiling. There was a single eye in the center that glanced back at B00my and immediately enhanced his hallucinations tenfold. After a flash of white and a projection of Christ, B00my’s environment materialized into a torus-shaped room lined with hexagonal plates that flipped back and forth as if fixed to an axel. On on side of the panels was a sleek surface and on the opposite side rested a closed eye. B00my waited in this state for some time before the plates all started to flip wildly and all of these panels landed on their eye. Simultaneously, the thousands of hexagonal panels opened their eyes, and an entity revealed itself.

The entity revealed that it had been watching B00my for some time, and that it came from a similar origin. They explained that he has seemingly become weaker as he’s strayed from this origin. According to the being, his current “existence” is equal to that of God extending one of its countless appendages and dipping it into one of an infinite number of pools. This was not to say that B00my is God, but rather a relative placeholder term to describe to him that his “higher-self” was capable of much more including better emotional regulation and omnipotent wisdom. The entity then extended an offer towards B00my to return to their “home”, essentially asking B00my to ditch his individual existence, but he would decline due to the idea that he had plenty of unfinished business amongst his relationships here on Earth. Ironically, this sent the being into a hypocritically and uncontrollable rage. The entity exclaimed “If you think it’s so easy being God, then how about you take it up?!” before shunting B00my into an empty and void realm of activity. The amount of time he spent here is unknown, but to B00my it felt like an eternity. Determined to reclaim his sanity, he would slowly piece back together his reality by remembering anything he could about his individual existence. One detail after another, B00my conjured back his original world starting with his family and environment and proceeding by remembering friends and secondary location in his life. B00my almost completely recounted his life before he would suddenly wake up on his couch again. Somehow during the process of all this, B00my had ceased to play the previously mentioned video game, and had turned on an episode of the animated series “Adventure Time”. B00my awoke to the Season 6 episode “Walnuts and Rain”, specifically to the scene where “7718” introduces himself to Jake. B00my took this as a sign of the entity leaving behind its signature and nick-named it “Bill” accordingly. After coming to mid-trip, B00my frantically called anyone he could, trying to ground himself back in this reality for he could still feel his mind slipping with the hallucinogens in full effect. From there, he was able to contact another one of his brothers and finish out the trip with the newfound supervision.

This experience unsurprisingly changed B00my, and he then felt it was his duty to take it seriously and detail his experience in his next musical project. Thus, the concept for 7718 was born, and B00my would start the two-year-long production of this album. During this time he recruited friends, co-workers, and a few members of the RTR community over on Facebook to craft this hour-long listening experience, and the album would later be posted on April 16th, 2022, more or less celebrating the anniversary of the trip that had changed his outlook on life.
