Description

The day has finally come for Snail the Wah to be released as a double vinyl gatefold

Snail the Wah is the 3rd album by Electric Magma released in 2006 and is now being produced on vinyl for the first time ever! This double gatefold album will be hand numbered as a limited edition on 180g double vinyl for all you audiophiles out there.

Following their first instrumental album - Karaoke Bitch Slap (2004), Snail the Wah was always intended to be a double album. After weeks preparing studio tracks and playing to a click - a full albums worth of fuzzy spaced out ROCK n’ ROLL was created and spawned the idea to include improvised jams on the record.

Electric Magma rented a studio in the form of a century-old stone farmhouse from friend and long-time producer Justin Koop of B-TOWN Sound (Burlington ON). The band setup and jammed until their fingers were blistered. Before the tapes stopped rolling, there were enough fuzzy jams to make a whole other album. It was a hot summer in 2006 and the air conditioners couldn’t be running while the album was being recorded - so the band stayed cool and hydrated with copious amounts of dollar-a-bottle beer. The Jams flowed like the salmon of Capastrano and the concept for a double album materialized. The recordings were then sent to be mixed by Rob Sanzo - Signal to Noise in Toronto. Cover Art was hand painted Oil on Canvas by Chris Moniz (and later tattooed on Tim's arm).

Electric Magma formed in 2000 in the tiny hamlet known as Toronto, Canada. Emerging from the ashes of previous musical endeavors, the thunderous trio comprised of Tryg Smith , Tim Reesor, and Tom Brouard forged ahead with their vision of sonic eruption. Halfway up the fuzzed-out sludge ladder, somewhere in between the metal boogie rock of Clutch and the surfed-up stoner rock of Fu Manchu, lies the sound of burning liquid rock. Electrified Magma.

While many groups struggle with the concept of applying vocal melodies over their musical groove, Electric Magma opted to side-step this dilemma and simply forgo the vocals and in their place drop in double the riffs. While the lack of a singer can be a crippling obstacle for many a lesser band, it has only added fuel to their collective fire and driven their fuzzed-out riff rock into another dimension.

Notorious merch whores, Electric Magma are second only to KISS when it comes to pimping the name onto anything and everything…soup to nuts, condoms to candy bars…their merch table alone is often an event unto itself, representing a bigger spread than Grandma’s baked goods table at the local church bazaar.

Currently promoting the release of their latest album entitled “SILVERBALL”, which was released in 2015, Electric Magma barrel ahead like a runaway freight train. This latest record may in fact be every stoner rock fans wet dream as they have created the ultimate sing-along for psychopaths and hard rocking maniacs. It’s riff rock karaoke night at the Sirloin Saloon, so grab your beer and belt buckle and give it your best.
