Description

The beginning of a new era for Korban Baxter as an artist. This album marks as a culmination of five years of pure hard work paying off. A story of a Philadelphian boy growing up in a rotten urban setting, Blue Period dives into multiple topics and true stories taken place. An experience that requires an open and mature ear to truly soak in, as the album sets itself apart from anything ever made within the Hip-Hop and Rap genres. Blue Period is the one of a kind listening experience that most conscious rap enthusiasts are looking for.

Philly’s very own Jaden Ensley (otherwise known as Korban Baxter or Korrin) has been in the music game for a couple years now. Starting back in 2018 where he dropped his first mixtape “Tin Man Has No Idols” a YouTube and Soudcloud exclusive that showed that in the very beginning he had a knack for making something truly artistic even if it was rough around the edges.

After spending time working on his craft he eventually struck gold when spending an entire day inside his room to make his most viral project to date “Impure Aesthetic” his Horrorcore EP which first dropped as a throwaway but then re-released with a couple new tracks to make it the Deluxe it is known as now. One of those tracks he decided to add on was a sample from a very popular short film on the YouTube platform. The “Out of Her Head” interlude from the film “Possibly in Michigan” was added on a whim to add onto the spooky atmosphere the album already had. He had no idea just how popular the sound would become on the TikTok platform during the time.

Now striving to break out of the stigma surrounded by the interlude/skit Korban is determined more than ever to show his true showcase as an Emcee and artist. No longer afraid to share his vision with the world and now taking the time to actually hone his craft instead of rushing it, he is ready to take on the world and will be returning with his magnum opus in the year 2023 with his next album titled “Blue Period”.
