King Monday’s self-titled debut album, “King Monday,” is the London based producer and multi-instrumentalist’s biggest project to date. Composed of a hefty twelve tracks, the album’s influences range from Major League DJz inspired amapiano to nuanced takes on Erykah Badu and Burial’s sound palettes. A pandemic and general sense of character development has taken the project in a new direction, challenging Sherwyn to work with different styles and ultimately new territory.

King Monday acts as an all-encompassing sound exploration project for Croydon born artist Sherwyn Appadu. Since his 2017 debut EP, “78,” King Monday has continued to develop a voice that speaks to his experimental tastes and emerging status. Through collaborations like his most recent work with South Asian collective @Daytimers—who were recently nominated for "Best Compilation" of 2021 in the DJ Mag Awards—King Monday has proved to be not only a talented musician, but an effective advocate for cultural representation in the music industry. Amidst features on playlists like Spotify’s Fresh Finds & New Music Friday, Apple Music’s New Music Daily, and Amazon’s Breakthrough Electronic King Monday's dubs have made their way through the UK dance scene with unreleased tracks and remixes being supported by new and established talent on the circuit. Other accolades include write-ups by hypemachine blogs like Analogue Trash, Black Plastic, and electric sound of joy, video premieres with mags like Nowness, and recognition by acclaimed institutions like Bitbird and All Things Go.
