Laurent Collat is not a newcomer to the French electronic scene. It was in 1988, with the discovery of New Order, that the desire to compose his own songs arose. His techno-pop compositions drift gently towards a house and techno sound, with the arrival of the baggy movement from Manchester and the acid-house wave.
In 1992, a pivotal year if ever there was one, pop had been ousted in favour of technology. Between ‘92 and ‘95, Laurent worked in various horizons, but always with one goal: to make people dance and move. Laurent Collat joined F Communications in 1996.
On his first two EPs released in ‘96 and ‘97, "From Nowhere With Love"
and "Snapshots", Elegia developed a melodic and melancholic house. A studio man, he seeks to find THE voice that would bring emotion and warmth to the compositions of a future album.
