‘Rainbow Brain’ is GRiZ’s most recent album, released digitally in July of 2021 and now available on vinyl. The album is a look at the full spectrum of the psyche, and in GRiZ’s own words was “inspired by the idea of letting go into the technicolor world of psychedelia.” It’s a record that felt radically authentic to his own path as an artist and portrays the experiences that had defined him up to that point.
The album is presented in the form of a continuous mix, meant to be played from front to back in an effort to fully capture the experience as it should be enjoyed. The double gatefold sleeve is decorated with cover artwork from artist Blunt Action and contains two unique splatter records in red-orange-yellow and green-blue-purple. Color variations and splatter pattern may vary. Available for pre-order until April 4.
Estimated delivery in June.
Funk isn’t merely a genre. It’s a state of mind. Such is the opinion of GRiZ, the North Detroit-raised musician who spends sunny days and neon-tinted nights in pursuit of good vibrations. Born Grant Kwiecinski, the multi-talented electronic artist and self-proclaimed “rainbow boy” has cultivated a party-poppin’ corner of bass music all his own defined by sax-blastin’ productions and soulful live shows. A musical chameleon with a relentlessly positive attitude, GRiZ aims to create safe spaces for diverse fans to lift each other up, one drop at a time.
