Description

The debut album from Moorhouse Entertainment Founder, Eli Rock, explores the complexities of his life as a Black American in modern society. Using general topics such as relationships, work and politics, he paints vivid pictures of the life of millennial Black man from a sociopolitical standpoint.

Adopting a childhood nickname given to him by a minister, Eli Rock is the personification of an homage to his background and passions. His name serves as a multiple entendre in reference to his roots in the Baptist church, his affinity for Rock music and strong love for Hip Hop culture. First noticing Hip-Hop at age 4, he knew the art form was going to be a major part of his life one way or another. He began MC’ing when he was 13, after getting a good response to freestyling during detention. Though he initially intended to be a battle rapper, the following summer he started to make beats and write songs consistently. Years later, after several periods of figuring out, Eli Rock approaches music like some sort of therapeutic art instillations; circling around concepts that frequent his mind.
