Rising Chicago rap duo Mother Nature released their mixtape SZNZ, in April of 2021, via Chicago indie label, Closed Sessions. The tape was produced entirely by labelmate, BoatHouse, showing the tight knit community Mother Nature values and speaks to in their music.
The mixtape features Sir Michael Rocks, Valee, Brittney Carter, Freddie Old Soul, JEFF K%NZ, GR8SKY, Murph Watkins, and Dave Coresh. The curated list is full of timeless bars over grimy beats and encourages listeners to tap into their most authentic self.
“We seek to awaken our communities to acknowledge and replace the consumption of death and low vibr8tional frequencies that cause ills and confusion, particularly within our youth. Through ‘SZNZ,’ Mother Nature brings a balance to the mainstream airways and platforms, cutting thru clones and rebuilding the foundation of true HipHop culture.”

About Mother Nature:
Mother Nature, known as Klevah and TRUTH, met in 2011 at the University of Illinois, building a sisterhood as emcee-educators and sharing a vision of healing and transforming communities through hip hop. The duo activated this vision by founding their nonprofit, Mother Nature, Inc. which houses The Miseducation of HipHop, a music-based youth development program that has helped over 600 students. Simultaneously, they both received an opportunity to open for Run the Jewels, pushing them to create their debut project, Mother Nature EP, which in turn became their group stage name. They’ve since carved a name for themselves in this industry on a mission to bring listeners back to Self/Nature and have been recognized by Grammy.com, Sun-Times, DJ Booth, Chicago Reader, Essence, and many more.
The Chicago-based duo is the answer for listeners seeking both substance and simplicity. As educators, they have mastered the ability to deliver weighty content through uplifting BARZ that pierce the conscience.
