Description

Following his summer hit "Tutto va bene quando facciamo l'amore" (remixed by Yuksek and Jabberwocky among others) and his album Domani è un'altra notte (released last fall on Kwaidan Records - Marc Collin record label known as Nouvelle Vague band master mind with the support of agnes b.,) Alex Rossi is back with a cover of Italian band Matia bazar's 1977 international hit Solo tu from, a memory of a childhood spent riding around in his father's Alfa Romeo.

Solo? No, but rather as a duo, with musician/actress Calypso Valois (whose debut album Cannibale was released in 2017, and who was recently featured in the series Vernon Subutex.)

This brand-new version, recorded remotely in full confinement, was arranged by faithful accomplice Romain Guerret (Aline, Donald Pierre, Pauline Croze) and mixed by Julien Galner (Corine, Naive New Beaters, Kiddy Smile).

The cover was designed by their friend, creator and designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, aka JCDC.

The summer of 2020 has already fallen in love with this timeless, infectious banger.

  1. Marc Collin founds Kwaidan Records in Paris.

Composer/producer with an eye for talent - a quick description that neatly resumes the talents of Marc Collin, who over the years has progressed from the studio to playing live.

Whether on projects like Nouvelle Vague (often a launchpad for an impressive list of artists on the rise) or with artists such as Yasmine Hamdan (an iconic French-Lebanese singer), Phoebe Killdeer (now known worldwide for her remix by The Avener) and Jay-Jay Johanson (the Scandinavian crooner), Marc Collin nurtures international artists whose particular sensibility and experience appeal to him.

Particularly careful with his production values, Marc Collin is above all a lover of old synths, the ones that left their mark on the 80s, and knows how to get the best out of them for his modern productions by addressing a wide audience.

With its meticulous production characterised by a certain sweetness and subtlety, whether in English, French or more exotic languages, Kwaidan Records is a Parisian institution that welcomes artists from anywhere in the world, helping them develop and confirm their talent.
