Music: tara King th.
While composing Tara King th’s last album Stellar Fantasies Ray Borneo sketched out this outdated sci-fi adventure. These 14 space rock synthetic tracks outlined a story that the music was unravelling: a man lost in space is forced to land on a strange planet. There he meets Aia, a space siren who shows him the winding way to his inner self and guides him to eternity.
This is when he felt like going furthermore: he asked his pal Erik Stéfanini to write up a short story from scratch making it a read-along record like in the days when we were kids.
That’s exactly when Dominique Paturel came into the picture. Dominique Paturel is famous for characterizing a lusty list of TV shows heroes for French-speaking -and english-language deaf at the time - audience. He is also known for storytelling countless Walt Disney records in Lafayette’s lingo back then.
Tempted by the story itself he came onboard the project and delivered the story of Jacques in his unmistakable voice.
« Fantaisies Stellaires »
When Jacques realizes he’s woken up from hyper sleep, he is all alone onboard the Asterion spaceship and totally lost in space. Neuron is the only planet around. He decides to land on this forgotten moon despite the nearby black star. Facing erratic physics-bending phenomena he meets Aia, an all-out whimsical siren from space. Together they run like six-year olds on this barren land. This lady Robot leads him to a disused lab where he falls asleep - her arms around him. At rest he starts dreaming. Only to find out she has gone away when he opens his eyes again.
Lost again he is confronted with a hostile environment. He begins hallucinating right in the middle of an overpowering frozen desert. He finally gets back to his spaceship and eventually takes off. But he quickly finds himself stuck between time and space.
For the last time Aia, a blur amidst nebulae, appears again in a guardian angel figure. She shows him the way to eternity.
AIA / LADY ROBOT
Lady Robot is a humanoid with a delicate skin . She can communicate in all possible languages using full range frequencies and she can learn more.
Standing over her carbon crib her engineers bestowed her with grace, a gift for music , one for dancing, the temper of an angel and extreme long-term survival skills. Aia has lived her whole life on Neuron. So far. « Journeys end with lovers meeting » That’s what William Shakespeare says . We’ll see how meaningful this can be.
L’ASTRONAUTE / JACQUES
Jacques-of-all-trades has seen it all. He has engaged in all kinds of missions all across the galaxy but he never thought this one could be the last one. Or could it? The astronaut is shaken with doubt: untangle the truth, puzzle out fact from fiction and connect back to reality. He wants to make sense of it all. His decisions will or will not guide him back onto the mission path.
Our astronaut is your A-list tight-lipped space officer. His mission is to boldly go across the universe. Maybe for the last time.
