Tino Contreras is a composer, pianist, trumpeter, vocalist and an outstanding drummer and has a musical career of over 70 years. Despite his imaginative and extravagant experimentation, Contreras remained a champion of the jazz form in Mexico. Now in his nineties, Contreras continues to play, record, and receive recognition for his contribution to Mexican jazz and beyond.
With more than 50 records produced in France, Germany, England, Spain, U.S., Argentina, Haiti, and Mexico, the "Jazz Mariachi" is one of his masterpieces, never before edited outside of Mexico, and now with a bonus track "La Marcha de Zacatecas"
