Description

The Slaughterhouse. The 3rd album and loosely considered "follow-up" to The Unseen is an absolute powerhouse. Taking a new approach to the recording process the trio decided to record the drums, bass & the main synth tracks live together adding the guitars and other tracks later. This created a much more solid & smooth sounding record. Going with a concept of a 1-track album the band delivers 42 minutes of Instrumental & experimental music. With a few nods to The Unseen hidden throughout the album you can hear where the band has molded their music into a unique and promising new sound blending what was great about the first 2 releases.

Dr. Bundy...

a 3 piece comprised of Dave Potvin and Brothers Ken & Kevin Blakey. They started out around 1997 with they're first band, a dramatically different project Formaldehyde. Using Formaldehyde as a learning experience and getting their feet wet in the art of sound. The trident then formed various projects in multiple genres, Frogeye, Evil Grace, Æightch & Qotile to name a few. All have distinct sounds in different genres and slight line up changes either adding other members or starting side projects within the 3.

Your first introduction to Dr. Bundy came in the form of their self-titled debut album back in 2007. The album, a blend of acoustic and electric guitars backed by driving synth lines and drum kits comprised of pasta strainers, cheese graters, chains and the occasional traditional drum kit. It's a mishmash of different sounds, new ideas and experimentation that has shaped the sound they have created today. With influences ranging from Tom Waits to Emerson Lake & Palmer to Gogol Bordello, Dr. Bundy's self-titled is a great first glimpse at what is to come...

The Unseen, Dr. Bundy's 2nd offering was released in 2012. A bit of a departure from the first album "The Unseen" shows a more polished sound incorporating an electronic drum kit for most of the percussion and stepping away from the traditional verse chorus verse song structures found on the first record. This album also tells a story from beginning to end of a mans struggle against power and public scrutiny which plays out to be a psychotic breakdown within the mind of the narrator. Influences on this one include Pink Floyd, Opeth and Circus music, an eclectic blend of atmosphere and rhythms and a step towards a new direction.

The Slaughterhouse. The sophomore album and loosely considered "follow-up" to The Unseen is an absolute powerhouse. Taking a new approach to the recording process the boys decided to record the drums, bass & the main synth tracks live together adding the guitars and other sounds after. This created a much more solid & smooth sounding record. Going with a concept of a 1-track album the band delivers 42 minutes of Instrumental experimental music. With a few nods to The Unseen hidden throughout the album you can hear where the band has molded their music into a unique and promising new sound blending what was great about the first 2 releases. The Slaughterhouse is to be released on 3/16/2018
