“TV Show” is raw, mad and sometimes violent. A sincere, psychedelic trip, we wanted to scream, lash out and let go like there was no tomorrow.
This EP is a mix of different tracks created through the group playing together. It is a continuation of our experiments - ongoing research into a common language between our images and music. It combines our experiences, obsessions, dreams; a manifestation of all the feelings involved.
We have been looking at the other side of the screen, something we have been obsessed with right from the beginning of the group. We have been digging to see what it would provoke inside of us. We found violence, madness, imagination. Strange TV shows, tube television sets, glitch art, digital matter, depressive hosts… We created this set of tracks with a certain narrativity, and they take on a different meaning when listened to in chronological order.
For us this is a type of fiction, with a story, recurrent characters, different scenes. The idea was to follow a character, a guy who is unstable, even crazy. We accompany him through different moments - a sort of quest, with discoveries and failures in a mix of changing environments.
On the first part of the record he is often chatty, though it is not always him talking, but sometimes the voices in his head or around him. At one point he even believes he is Salvador Dali. As we continue the journey, the voices become less and less present, as if the confusion in our character’s mind is fading, and he is coming to a sort of realisation, of discernment - on his level, of course. The madness and violence are still there, but he maybe starts to understand why.
This is our fourth EP, and was created simultaneously with our new live show. It was important to us to make both at the same time. In this record we tried to convey the energy we feel while performing: something direct, raw. This is likely to be the last EP we make before our first LP.
