Vivian Roost

France

4 years after his last album The Seasons released on Vinyl and digital under his own label Daïdana Music and after having collaborated with the prestigious classical label Deutsche Grammophon in 2020, the Franco-Swiss pianist composer, Vivian Roost returns with his third studio album From Home.

Signed to the UK label Pianoramix (Neo-classical subdivision of the Double J Music label), From Home was recorded and then mixed by the artist, himself a producer and sound engineer on his own 1909 Pleyel upright piano captured by a dozen vintage microphones.

Fascinated since his childhood by Chopin, Erik Satie and Debussy, the musical universe of Vivian Roost recalls the music of contemporary artists such as Yann Tiersen, Joep Beving or even Olafur Arnalds whom he himself greatly admires.
So it was only natural that he contacted Zino Mikorey (Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds, Tom Yorke…) for the final mastering of the album.
The album is available both in digital streaming platforms as well as in physical format CD (limited and numbered series) and now in Vinyl limited edition too comprising a total of 15 tracks including the two successful EPs The Memory of Time and Colours as well as 6 new unreleased tracks. Two first singles were released Memories and the latest single From Home feature now on the biggest piano playlist from Spotify called Peaceful Piano (>6,7M listeners).

Built as a refuge, a musical place where the artist likes to meet, this new opus began to take shape at the end of the first confinement. “In the weeks following the first confinement, this album imposed itself on me as a matter of course”

For the anecdote and paradoxically, this period of 1st confinement was marked by the absence of his piano, then in the workshop.
Upon his return 2 months later, the composer wanted to restore and transcribe into musical notes all the emotions felt during this unprecedented "experience", lived like many of us, in front of ourselves.
It took him 1 year and half to complete the production of this new album which, according to Vivian Roost, is his most authentic, the one he is most proud of and which he now wishes to share with his audience.
