Filipino artist gabby parafina might only be 18, but with his immense vocal talent, unique production approach, and clear songwriting ability the future is brighter than bright for this young artist. What immediately catches any listeners attention is his vocal chops, which are quite simply undeniable.
Reminiscent of artists like Miguel and the Weeknd and even MJ himself, gabby draws on that balance of flexing his clean, silky vocal range with shorter, punchier dance-oriented refrains that put him already in class with those aforementioned pop masters. And much like them, gabby is able to draw on a wide variety of genres, including classic R&B and soul, disco, hip-hop, and pop. Learning that he produces his own work only further establishes what an immense talent this young man holds at, again, only 18 years old. His debut album "therapy" shows the full breadth of his abilities, mixing beautiful pop bangers with lush ballads, and, quite frankly, is easily one of the best albums we've promoted his year. Gabby seems to have that innate ability to understand how to use his voice as an instrument in itself, and the lush harmonic soundscapes that emerge out of that dynamic vocal range make for some remarkable neo-R&B. Much of that can be heard on the attached track, "ur boyfriend," which, though more traditional in its form than some of the other tracks on the LP, nonetheless shows off the skillful production and vocal prowess that make gabby such an artist to watch.
