YellowStraps’ previous EP “Blame” touched upon struggles in human relationships, but resolved on a positive note that is that there is hope to consolidate such struggles.
“Goldress” is YellowStraps’ fourth EP to date, but the first with this new full band setup. It acts as a follow-up to the issue touched upon in “Blame”, but digs deeper into finding a way to align with the hopeful idea that one can overcome emotional troubles.
“Blame” can be paralleled to traveling down a dark tunnel, at the end of which can be seen a bright door. While “Goldress” depicts walking through this bright gateway that represents the hope of stepping into the right place between internal balance and perfect relationship.
The full band setup brings new aesthetics and energy to fit and transcribe the intention that YellowStraps wanted to portray in this EP. The music is anchored into the foundations laid out in the previous EPs, and feels like an organic evolution towards more careful songwriting and composition.
While staying true to their roots of carefully blended hip-hop, rnb, jazz, soul and electronic vibes, YellowStraps are taking a step towards a more Global sound, bound to resonate with their existing fanbase all while reaching further to new fans and listeners Worldwide.
