Astrix is the musical persona of Avi Shmailov, a unique phenomenon in the trance world, a leading DJ & producer, who came from the underground psychedelic scene, have been performing in the biggest festivals and venues, reached #18 on the DJ Mag pole, and yet, chose to always stay true to the underground trance movement. Astrix’s music crosses over genre borders and is being played and charted by leading Techno and Electronic Dance Music DJ around the globe. Since 2019 he also runs his own successful label Shamanic Tales Records. Astrix has been dividing his life is for almost two decades between constant studio work and non-stop touring around the globe. Astrix broke into global consciousness in 2002 with his debut album ‘Eye to Eye’, defining him as a trance music anthems’ producer. In 2004, he released his second album ‘Artcore’, igniting fire all over the global trance scene. The album’s effect was followed in 2005 by an impressive entry to the world's top 100 DJs list of the famous DJ Magazine, where he reached the 18th position in 2007. His third album ‘Red Means Distortion’ was released in 2010 and in 2016 he released his 4th album “He.art” that has turned into a huge success and was hailed as his most wholesome musical creation. All that time Astrix continues to release many tracks on various compilations and digital EPs. He has also collaborated and exchanged remixes with a plethora of leading artists, among them Shpongle, Infected Mushroom, Juno Reactor, Ace Ventura (including their project Alpha Portal), LOUD, Tristan, Ajja, Vini Vici, Captain Hook, Simon Patterson, John Fleming and others. His latest remix album “Astrix - Remixes" was released on 2021. He is now in the final stages of completing his much anticipated 5th album, expected to be released in the end of 2024.
